What do you think?

  • Jennifer says:

YES, had we never started initiating conversations of get togethers years ago, I would be without many fewer friends then I have today.

I just don’t understand why other groups out there automatically assume that any of these things are exclusive and then basically make unwarranted comments about the people I know, and I have met and link to and some I consider good friends without any real understanding or conversation.

I understand how I am the person who gets linked to such comments, because I am one of the few out there who are actually trying to get people together (there are a handful) But as you said, life gets in the way and many of us, are not just active in the blog world, but in the real world too and have real lives that prevent us from attending all things at all times.

    Sigh…I’m feeling defensive and I don’t wanna be…

I am honest and truly one of the freaking few people in this community who tries VERY HARD to bring people TOGETHER and it frustrates me to even hear people who don’t know a thing about me, or even read my blog for more than one quick second to think otherwise.

And yet, I know I will keep on trying. :) Hopefully the December event will be well attended by FAMILY and FRIENDS as well as those with www addresses.

The past “buffalo blogger” events I’ve attended have been a lot of fun. It’s unfortunate that this one seemed to be a matter of bad timing for a lot of people, myself included.

For me, I have a very small number of hours that I can spend socializing, so I try to use my interweb contacts to make the most of it. It would be great to put faces to names (like putting avatars to screenames, only more retro), so I keep hoping one of the get-togethers will coincide with an evening that I’m not already overbooked. So someone needs to keep planning these things… hee haa.

  • New Orleans bike taxis could get City Council OK
I'm going to write a note to these people to ask for a copy of the draft legislation mentioned in the article. I hope the legislation passes, because it will help keep bike taxis (AKA pedicabs) on the street in other cities. Who knows, it could even encourage people to PUT bike taxis on their streets. New Orleans pedicabs could get City Council OK By Br […]

  • The Difference An Email Address Makes
